FAQ
ABA Health is an accredited skills-based training institution that started in 2005. Over the years, the institution has assisted learners to develop industry-relevant skills, thereby gaining employment and admission into higher institutions. We offer different ECD courses for students countrywide. With the ECD online course or ECD distance learning, we make it easier for teachers to obtain their ECD qualifications. This ECD qualification can be done between 18 and 24 months.
Our ECD NQF Level 4 Course is an entry-level qualification for those who are in or want to enter the field of education, training, and development, specifically within the sub-field of early childhood development (ECD). This qualification is aimed at people who are already practicing within the field without formal recognition as well as for those who wish to enter the field. The ECD Course enables recipients to plan and prepare for early childhood development; facilitate and monitor the development of babies, toddlers, and young children; and provide care and support to babies, toddlers, and young children. The qualification is offered as an ECD Distance Learning course for learners working at ECD Centres. ECD NQF Level 4 qualified teachers will be able to facilitate and monitor the development of babies, toddlers, and young children and communicate with parents and children for better growth and development.
You can become a Grade R practitioner after completing the ECD NQF Level 4 course or if you passed grade 12 with mathematics or mathematical literacy. We also provide bridge courses for students who did not complete ECD NQF Level 4 and only passed grade 12 with a failing grade in mathematics or mathematical literacy. Upon successful completion of this ECD Course, you may register with the South African Council for Educators. With the ECD NQF Level 5 Course, teachers will be able to apply active learning programs and workplace communication skills in the workplace. Teachers will also be able to facilitate literacy, numeracy, and life skills for Grade R learners.
There are a couple of ECD online courses for teachers to do on our e-learning platform or Zoom. Our short courses assist teachers to better understand how to discipline children in the classroom and manage the class to optimally deliver the ECD Program to the children. One of the courses that are imperative is our Health and Safety Short Course, which enables teachers to ensure all the children are playing and learning in a safe environment. All the short courses can be done at your own pace our E-Learning platform, or you can also join in with other students to do the course on Zoom on Saturdays. Our new Potty Training Short Course enables teachers to obtain the knowledge to support and teach children the technique of using the potty effectively.
